Keeping EcoKosher as heard on Colorado Public Radio

When it comes to meat, the term “Kosher” refers to the strict Jewish laws around how the animal was slaughtered and processed. But two rabbis– a husband and wife, actually in Pueblo– want “kosher” to mean something about how the animal lived… that it was treated well; and– for example– raised without hormones. But Rabbis Hersh Mendel Saunders and Elisheva Brenner found that if they wanted kosher meat like that locally they’d have to start their own operation. Shanna Lewis reports:
