Janice Gould is the voice of an outsider when she writes with a tender intimacy of how she felt different as a teenager. Then she goes deep into the connection of family, a family standing at the “precipice of mortality” as their transgender father dies. Her latest book of poetry, “The Force of Gratitude,” is a journey through her life and love.
Gould teaches women’s and ethnic studies at the University of Colorado Colorado Springs. She’s a panelist at this weekend’s Zee-Jaipur Literature Festival in Boulder.
