How Did Colorado Supermarket Chain King Soopers Get It’s Name?

Did you know there was an actual King behind the King Soopers grocery store name?Lloyd King founded the Colorado based supermarket chain in 1947. But where did the rest of the name came from, including that goofy spelling?
